Render: The Vancouver International Music Video Festival

Render: The Vancouver International Music Video Festival is an annual event that showcases the art of the music video and the creativity of the filmmakers involved in producing them. Submissions from independent and commercial filmmakers, emerging or established, are all recognized and encouraged. Render’s focus is on innovative and cutting-edge music videos that push the creative boundaries of the art form. The music video is often seen as a supplement to the music in the video: Render turns this understanding upside-down, championing the videos, the work that goes into them and the people who make them. Only the videos themselves will be judged at Render, so you can expect to hear a diverse range of musical styles as it is the quality and originality of the videos themselves that will count. Render is run by the Vancouver Music Video Society, whose focus is on the convergence between music and film/video. We are excited to be co-presenting Render with the Vancity Theatre again this year.
