Rome Outcast Independent Film Award

The ROIFA "Rome Outcast Independent Film Award" was created with the purpose of giving space to the authors of independent feature and short films around the world and to offer them a direct and concrete way to communicate with the professionals of the industry, which is why the winners of the annual edition will receive, among other prizes, a review written by an important member of the Accademia del Cinema Italiano, and a direct meeting with the producer of Kimera Film, production company that counts among its titles also "Don't be bad", film by Claudio Calligari that launched the career of Alessandro Borhi. We believe that the most interesting future for cinema has to be discovered in today's independent cinema, from which the strongest and most incisive ideas and the most personal and courageous authors often emerge. For this reason, our festival accepts all kinds of short and feature films, of any length and with any theme. We want every author to have the possibility to express himself in the way he prefers, without restrictions. Unlike many independent festivals, every year we will hold a live screening event at a film school in Rome, the "CineTv Roberto Rossellini". The winning films will hence be screened in an environment composed of students, teachers, professionals, critics and simple amateurs. SPECIAL EVENT: For this only monthly edition of our festival we have opened a NEW CATEGORY: "Best Short Film - Special Event". We accept short films under 25 minutes that treat the theme of "Dreams", in its broadest and most varied meaning. The best short films will be screened in live events that will be held in October in Rome and in other main Italian cities; these will be cultural events, in which professional artists from all over Italy will perform. Italian professionals from the film industry will also be present. … Il ROIFA “Rome Outcast Indipendent Film Award” nasce con lo scopo di dare spazio agli autori di lungometraggi e cortometraggi indipendenti in giro per il mondo e di offrirgli una diretta e concreta via di comunicazione con i professionisti del settore, motivo per il quale i vincitori dell’edizione annuale riceveranno, tra gli altri premi, una recensione scritta da un importante critico e giornalista cinematografico, nonché membro dell'Accademia del Cinema Italiano, e un colloquio diretto con il produttore di Kimera Film, società di produzione che conta tra i suoi titoli anche “Non essere cattivo”, film di Claudio Calligari che ha lanciato la carriera di Alessandro Borhi. Crediamo che il futuro più interessante del cinema vada cercato nel cinema indipendente di oggi, da cui spesso emergono le idee più forti e incisive e gli autori più personali e coraggiosi. Per questo motivo il nostro festival accetta ogni tipo di cortometraggi e lungometraggi, di qualunque durata e a tema libero. Vogliamo che ogni autore abbia la possibilità di esprimersi nel modo che preferisce, senza restrizioni. A differenza di molti festival indipendenti, ogni anno terremo un evento in presenza in una scuola di cinema a Roma, il “CineTv Roberto Rossellini”. I film vincitori verranno dunque proiettati in un ambiente composto da studenti, insegnanti, professionisti, critici e semplici appassionati. EVENTO SPECIALE: Per questa sola edizione mensile del nostro festival abbiamo aperto una NUOVA CATEGORIA: "Best Short Film - Special Event". Accettiamo cortometraggi sotto i 25 minuti che trattino il tema dei "Sogni", nel suo significato più ampio e variegato. I migliori cortometraggi saranno proiettati in eventi dal vivo che si terranno a ottobre a Roma e in alcune altre tra le principali città italiane; saranno eventi culturali interartistici, in cui si esibiranno artisti professionisti tutta Italia.
