*Only currently enrolled middle school and high school students (grades 6th - 12th) are eligible to submit. All other submissions will be disqualified. The San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival is pleased to present the 5th Annual Student Film Competition, open to students around the world in middle school and high school. Each film must be less than five minutes long and should tell a story about some aspect of the ocean. Competition Guidelines: -Subject material should be ocean-related, touching upon one or all of the following categories: ● Ocean environments ● Ocean wildlife ● Ocean science ● Our land based connections to the ocean ● Ocean cultures ● National Marine Sanctuaries ● Ocean sports ● Why we need the ocean -Winning films will be chosen on the basis of creativity and the ability to tell a story that leaves the audience better informed and/or moved about the ocean -Films to be made entirely by a student or group of students -Film length: 5 minutes or less -Open to: middle and high school students (grades 6th-12th) -Call for Entry announced: Friday, May 15, 2015 -Deadline for submissions: Monday, January 11, 2016
