___
During the summer of 2022, we screen the winners at the Foto Summer Garden, an open-air cinema in Transylvania.
Short Film Factory is a network of short film screening venues, part of the SHORT to the Point International Short Film Festival.
Short Film Factory has been promoting short films and its creators since 2009. During the first 12 years of the festival, we’ve organized more than 45 independent events, including short film screenings, workshops, conferences, exhibitions, video mapping shows, music concerts and DJ live sets.
Now, we organize short film screenings in all kind of places, from cinema theatre to pubs, from conference halls to concerts and festivals, from university forums to film workshops, from indoor to outdoor, from cities to villages, camping, seaside, delta, or mountain. In other words, we are screening shorts almost anywhere. The next events will take place in Transylvania, during the summer of 2022.
HOW IT WORKS
Every month, our judging team selects the best films of the month (for each category), and we screen them during the next summer in the awesome place from Transylvania, called Foto Summer Garden. It’s a cultural space adapted in an abandoned factory. The interesting thing is that this factory was producing film for photo and video cameras before the digital era started to grow. Till 2004, Azo Mures was one of the biggest film production factories in the world, alongside Kodak and Fuji. The Foto Summer Garden includes a lot of activities: short film screenings, conferences, digital museum and exhibitions, workshops, street art, stand-up comedy, video mapping shows, music concerts and DJ live sets.
Selection criteria for films may include the point of view or innovation of the screenplay, the technical or professional quality of filmmaking, the groundbreaking or cutting-edge theme of the film, the film’s length, its’ educational and/or entertainment value, the film’s insight into a way of life or culture, film reviews and/or awards garnered by the film, its official selection by film festivals, or the viewpoint of Program Committee members of SHORT FILM FACTORY.
