Welcome to Soo Film Festival!
What a year, right? We're not letting it dampen our excitement at coming together again to celebrate cinema. You no doubt had to find a way to be creative under some extraordinary circumstances and we are looking forward to seeing your strength and endurance on our screens this fall.
This year we'll be in downtown Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan September 15-19, at the historic Soo Theatre and Bayliss Public Library, a Superior District Library. Due to the ongoing health crisis festival dates and venues are subject to change.
Soo Film Festival 2021 is open to filmmakers worldwide but will continue to emphasize and showcase work from the Great Lakes region.
Entries begin March 8 and all genres of storytelling in feature and short categories will be accepted. Early-bird entry has no fee and a deadline of April 4. The regular deadline is May 16 with a $15 entry fee. Late entries must be submitted by June 7 with an entry fee of $20. The selected films will be announced at the week of July 19. Students are especially encouraged to submit.
Show us your movie!
Thank you,
