South Western International Film Festival

The South Western International Film Festival (SWIFF) is a four-day film and arts festival based in Sarnia, Ontario, celebrating its seventh anniversary November 18-21, 2021. SWIFF presents culturally diverse works from around Canada and the world through a robust selection of feature and short films, a live concert series, virtual reality exhibits, and new media workshops. Our mandate is to spotlight new voices, BIPOC and LGBTQ+ perspectives, and unique stories that engage Southwest Ontario's growing thirst for art and culture. Guests of the festival have included Academy Award-nominees Bing Liu (MINDING THE GAP) and Emma Donoghue (ROOM), and acclaimed bands like Born Ruffians, Shilpa Ray, and the Sadies. Past festival feature film highlights include PARASITE, MOONLIGHT, ANGRY INUK, and THE FAREWELL, among many others. SWIFF launched its first digital festival in November 2020, successfully showcasing its programming to a global audience, and will return with a hybrid digital/in-person edition this fall.
