Shenzhen International Film Festival

Founded in 2013, the Shenzhen International Film Festival encourages and supports filmmakers to enhance their passion and interest in film creation through more exchanges, broaden their horizons and learn more creative methods and skills. The mission and goal of the Shenzhen International Film Festival is to encourage the creation of outstanding film productions, to seek and support young film and television talents, to cultivate high-quality film and television creative projects, to promote the integrated development of the film and television industry and the new media industry, and to strengthen cultural exchanges, international exchanges and cooperation. The festival has four main sections: screenings, presentations, forums and a film carnival. By appealing for excellent films and film projects, it attracts worldwide attention to Chinese films, promotes exchanges between domestic and foreign filmmakers and industry professionals, and integrates resources to improve the production environment for Chinese films. Our goal is to provide a showcase for different types of films from around the world each year, to promote independent film-making of artistic value, to recognize and appreciate new perspectives and forms of expression, to create a space for inspiration, and a platform that promotes cross-boundary dialogue with the contemporary art and technology world. Our programs deal with contemporary social and aesthetic relevance and represent the power and influence of independent cinema.
