The festival itself was founded in Riga in 1996 and calls itself the oldest short film festival in the Baltic States. It runs five competitions: international short films, Baltic short films, mid-length films of 30 to 60 minutes, children's and youth films judged by audience vote, and, since 2026, queer short films from Central and Eastern Europe. International juries award Anna statuettes, with the Golden Anna as the Grand Prix. Each edition also has a thematic non-competitive programme, the LGBTQ+ section Pure Queer and the industry programme 2ANNAS FORUM with masterclasses, lectures and discussions. The 31st edition takes place in Riga on 2–8 April 2027.",[23,26,28,30
"2021",true
"2018
"2015
"2013",[],[34
"more","",[38],12131,[38],[41
"with-joy-and-merriness-jeanne-boukraa","With Joy and Merriness","In a society where technology has made immortality possible, everyday scenes reveal the…",5,"/img/films/_th600/with-joy-and-merriness-jeanne-boukraa-z69no933.webp",[48],"Jeanne Boukraa",[]]
