The programme favours ambitious, formally daring animation and looks at the links between animation and music, games, visual arts and acting. Short films compete in the Main Competition, with a Grand Prix and a Best Polish Film award, alongside the Music Films Competition and the Films for Children and Young Adults Competition. Audience-voted Play-off screenings before the festival can send a wild-card film into the competition. Since 2014 Animocje has presented an award for special achievements in animated film dubbing. Feature screenings, curated short film programmes, workshops, masterclasses and meetings with filmmakers complete the programme, with screenings centred on Kino Orzeł. Year-round screenings for children and adults run under the name Animocje 365.
