It was founded in 2012 by animator Patrick Smith, a former MTV animation director known for his hand-drawn shorts, and Vicky Chen, who directs the festival; it has grown through crowdfunding and contributions from artists. The programme has two competitive strands, an International Competition and a Singapore Student Films competition, selected in recent editions from more than 1,400 entries, and the evening ends with the Golden Durian Awards, including an audience vote. Screenings are accompanied by director Q&As, and some editions add masterclasses and industry talks. Past programmes include films by Bill Plympton, Hisko Hulsing, Špela Čadež, Mirai Mizue and Lei Lei. The date for the 15th edition is 14 November 2026, at Filmhouse in Singapore.",false,[22,24,26
"2021
"2020
"2018",[],[30
"more",[33],149,[33],[36
"dead-reckoning-2017","Dead Reckoning","A man rides around Vienna's Ringstrasse boulevard and into the city, where he falls on…",3,"/img/films/_th600/dead-reckoning-2017-omw3mvd3.webp",[43,44],"Paul Wenninger","Susan Young",[]]
