Organised by the Association Premiers Plans, its competition covers first and second European feature films, first European and French short films, films from European film schools, animated shorts, the Diagonales section and Chenaplans, a selection of animated shorts for children aged 3 to 9 who vote for the winners themselves. For the competition, Europe includes the countries of the former Soviet Union. Beside the competition, professional actors read screenplays in front of the audience, and retrospectives revisit European cinema history. Since 2005 the festival has hosted the Ateliers d'Angers, founded with Jeanne Moreau for young filmmakers preparing a first feature. The 39th edition runs 23–31 January 2027 under the theme “The Age of Machines”.",[23,26,28,30,32,34,36,38,40
"2025",true
"2023
"2022
"2021
"2020
"2019
"2018
"2014
"2013",[],[44
"more",[47,48,49,50],566,699,11349,785,[47,49],[53,66,74,82
"a-tiny-tale-sylvain-cuvillier-chloe-bourdic-theophile-coursimault-noemie-halberstam-maylis-mosny-zijing-ye-france-2020","A Tiny Tale","An abandoned dog waits alone by a roadside streetlamp until he meets a boy who dreams of…",8,"/img/films/_th600/a-tiny-tale-sylvain-cuvillier-chloe-bourdic-theophile-coursi-v9jvszg1.webp",[60,61,62,63,64,65],"Chloé Bourdic","Théophile Coursimault","Sylvain Cuvillier","Noémie Halberstam","Maÿlis Mosny","Zijing Ye
"kiko-and-the-animals-yawen-zheng-france-2020","Kiko and the Animals","A little boy named Kiko torments every animal around him, and not even the smallest mouse…",7,"/img/films/_th600/kiko-and-the-animals-yawen-zheng-france-2020-98qspuvj.webp",[73],"Yawen Zheng
"little-snowman-aleksey-pochivalov-russian-federation-2020","Little Snowman","When all the carrots disappear from a family of snowmen, they try to replace their noses…",4,"/img/films/_th600/little-snowman-aleksey-pochivalov-russian-federation-2020-7tdpczhj.webp",[81],"Aleksey Pochivalov
"poum-poum-damien-tran-france-2020","Poum Poum!","Poum Poum! is a musical experimental animation that celebrates the simple, childlike joy…",6,"/img/films/_th600/poum-poum-damien-tran-france-2020-lvlrw92j.webp",[89],"Damien Tran",[]]
