Its name refers to Andrei Tarkovsky’s film Stalker and the values the organisers draw from it: mercy, love for one’s neighbour and personal responsibility to society. The festival traditionally opens on 10 December, the anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, with special Stalker prizes presented to the protagonists of documentary films who devote their lives to defending human rights. The competition is open to Russian fiction features, short films, documentaries up to 52 minutes and short animation, alongside an international panorama of human rights films; admission to screenings is free. During the year the festival programme travels to other Russian cities, including Yekaterinburg, Smolensk, Krasnoyarsk and Kursk. The 32nd edition takes place in Moscow on 10–15 December 2026.",false,[23,25
"2021
"2020",[],[29
"more","",[33],1029,[33],[36
"white-snake-polina-fedorova-russia-2020","White Snake","A village boy learns a hard lesson for an irresponsible act in this hand-drawn animated…",6,"/img/films/_th600/white-snake-polina-fedorova-russia-2020-h1mra37p.webp",[43],"Polina Fedorova",[]]
