Alongside theatre, children's books and inclusive projects, its competition includes cinema and animation for young audiences: feature-length and short live-action films and animated shorts. An expert council selects the competition programme, and the winners are chosen by an independent jury of children and teenagers aged 8 to 16. The festival is organised by the Sergey Bezrukov Foundation for the Support and Development of Socio-Cultural Projects together with the Moscow Art Theatre named after M. Gorky and the Moscow Gubernsky Theatre; its special programme Echo BDF is held in other Russian regions and abroad. The ninth edition runs in Moscow from 22 August to 17 November 2026 and in Saint Petersburg from 12 September to 4 November 2026.",false,[24,26
"2022
"2021",[],[30
"more","",[34,35,36],1062,1033,1050,[],[39,47,55
"alaska-oxana-kuvaldina-russian-federation-2020-0706","Alaska","Inspired by Aleut folklore, in which every place is inhabited by spirits with their own…",7,"/img/films/_th600/alaska-oxana-kuvaldina-russian-federation-2020-0706-scipcl46.webp",[46],"Oxana Kuvaldina
"kurochka-umnichka-daria-sidlovskaya-russia-2020","Brainy Hen","After German soldiers have shot every chicken in a village, they hunt for the last little…",5,"/img/films/_th600/kurochka-umnichka-daria-sidlovskaya-russia-2020-0gw6xlnd.webp",[54],"Daria Sidlovskaya
"development-school-anastasia-sokolova-russia-2020","School of Development","Six-year-old Jela lives by a strict timetable of ballet, singing, English lessons and…","/img/films/_th600/development-school-anastasia-sokolova-russia-2020-si321je0.webp",[61],"Anastasia Sokolova",[]]
