It began in 2005 as the Athens Video Art Festival and has since widened its scope from screen-based work to the meeting point of art, technology and science. The festival takes place each spring in the historic centre of Athens, with every edition built around its own theme, and since 2019 it also runs the online platform ADAF ONLINE. The organiser is Multitrab Productions, a non-profit company in Athens that runs related digital-culture projects throughout the year.
