It is run by Pictoplasma, a curatorial organisation founded in Berlin in 1999 that works across illustration, animation, art, design, games and new media. The central conference programme consists of lectures and talks by illustrators, designers, artists and animation filmmakers. Alongside it, the animation festival screens a curated selection of character-driven short films, music videos and experimental work, with many filmmakers present for Q&A sessions. The event also includes the Character Lab with workshops and media demos, industry networking with portfolio reviews, and a Sunday Open House with a character art market.
