West (Kray Sveta. Zapad) is an international film festival in Kaliningrad, Russia, built around teenagers and the experience of growing up. Its main programme is judged by two juries: one of local school students chosen through a creative competition, and one of Kaliningrad school teachers. The Best Film award needs a joint decision of both juries, and viewers choose an Audience Choice Award from any programme. Screenings are free. Year-round workshops are a central part of the festival: children and teenagers of the Kaliningrad region study animation, documentary and fiction filmmaking and show their work on the festival screen. The festival is organised by the non-profit Festival Direction and was first held in 2019. The last edition, the third, took place on 1–7 May 2022 at the Zarya cinema and included a retrospective of Sergei Solovyov's films presented with the State Tretyakov Gallery.",[24
"2022",true,[],[29
"more","",[33],1116,[33],[36
"big-and-small-natalia-grofpel-russian-federation-2020","Big and Small","A cut-out animated short about the incredible events that can unfold inside a child's…",6,"/img/films/_th600/big-and-small-natalia-grofpel-russian-federation-2020-c5b7sa7y.webp",[43],"Natalia Grofpel",[]]
