Nicola Galliner founded it in 1995 as part of the cultural work of the Jewish Community of Berlin and led it until 2020; since 2021 it has been run by Doreen Goethe and Andreas Stein, the organisers of FilmFestival Cottbus. Keeping the memory of the Shoah alive and countering antisemitism are part of its stated mission. The programme of about 50 films includes two competitions, for feature and documentary films, with the Gershon Klein awards, alongside thematic sections, a tribute, short films and series. Screenings take place in Berlin, Potsdam and other towns in Brandenburg, and JFBB pro adds an industry forum for filmmakers working on Jewish themes. The dates for the 33rd edition are 4–9 May 2027.",[21
"2021",true,[],[26
"more","",[30],1120,[30],[33
"black-snot-golden-squares-irina-rubina-germany-2020","Black Snot & Golden Squares","A one-minute animated film-poem about love and longing in lockdown, told in geometric…",1,"/img/films/_th600/black-snot-golden-squares-irina-rubina-germany-2020-bm8kt4ns.webp",[40],"Irina Rubina",[]]
