It was founded in 2013 by Giulio Vita, who grew up in Venezuela; “guarimba” means “safe place” in a Venezuelan indigenous language. Around 170 short films of up to 30 minutes are selected from open submissions for competitions in fiction, animation, documentary, music videos, dance films and experimental cinema (INSOMNIA), alongside La Grotta dei Piccoli, a children’s animation competition created with UNICEF Italia. Screenings take place in the open-air space Il Terrenito, at the historic Cinema Teatro Sicoli and on the seafront, together with exhibitions of illustrators’ work, workshops and concerts. The dates for the 2027 edition are 7–12 August 2027.",[22,25,27,29,31
"2021",true
"2018
"2017
"2016
"2014",[],[35
"more",[38,39],944,888,[38,39],[42,50
"dreams-dorian-escourrou-france-2020","Dreams","An animated music video for Tim Dup's song “Songes” follows a mother and her young…",3,"/img/films/_th600/dreams-dorian-escourrou-france-2020-ybdqr0od.webp",[49],"Dorian Escourrou
"the-zucchinis-smile-lucas-ansart-france-2020","The Zucchini’s Smile","Myia and Aristote make their living hunting gluglus, cloud creatures that let them grow…",7,"/img/films/_th600/the-zucchinis-smile-lucas-ansart-france-2020-2td4hseb.webp",[57],"Lucas Ansart",[]]
