Its concept came from Leningrad documentary director Mikhail Litvyakov, who led the festival for twenty years and is its honorary president; since 2010 its president has been director Alexey Uchitel. The festival emblem and its Centaur prizes are based on “The Infant Centaur”, a drawing by Nadya Rusheva. Held annually in St. Petersburg, the festival now covers documentary, short fiction, animated and experimental film while keeping non-fiction at its centre. It runs three competitions: an International Competition for feature-length and short documentaries and for short fiction and animation; a National Documentary Competition for films by Russian directors or producers; and In Silico, an international competition of experimental shorts up to 20 minutes, launched in 2011. The Golden Centaur Grand Prix goes to the best film of the competition programme. The 36th edition runs 16–24 October 2026.",[21,24,26,28
"2024",true
"2023
"2021
"2015",[],[32
"more","",[36],14810,[36],[39
"mazays-ark-tatyana-chernilevskaya","Mazay’s Ark","In the spring flood, Grandfather Mazay sails his boat to collect the hares, but this time…",8,"https://img.vurchel.com/films/_th600/mazays-ark-tatyana-chernilevskaya-bb9igtee.webp?v=cde4fb4a",[46],"Tatyana Chernilevskaya",[]]
