Vladimir Sakhnovsky was born on September 3, 1980 in the city of Alma-Ata, Republic of Kazakhstan. His parents Sakhnovsky Alexander Vladimirovich and Danilova Elena Petrovna are professional artists. In 1997, he became a graduate of the 1st Lomonosov School.

In 2001, he graduated from the Art and Graphic Faculty of the Abai Almaty State University, now the Kazakh National Pedagogical University, with a degree in Easel Painting. From 2001 to 2004 he worked at the Center for Contemporary Art in the city of Alma-Ata.

In 2006, Sakhnovsky moved to Moscow. Until 2007, he worked at the advertising agency "BBDO Moscow". In 2011 he graduated from the School-studio "SHAR", where in 2014 he was a screenwriter of the TV series "In and Yana". From 2013 to 2014 he worked as a director and creative producer at the company "Bazelevs Innovations". In 2015, together with the Master-Film company, he founded an animation Internet service cartoonhacker.ru In the same year he founded the Sakhnovsky Park studio.

In 2016, at the XXIV Festival of Russian cinema "Window to Europe", director Vladimir Sakhnovsky received a diploma in the nomination "For trying to push the boundaries of reality" for the film "UFO Day", which was presented in the animated film competition. Since 2017, he has been involved in the creation of cartoons for the project "Cartoon in the cinema".
