Mihai Grécu
Mihai Grecu (born 28 April 1981) is a Romanian video artist.
He received his artistic education at the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca (Romania) and the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg (France). His first work was at Le Fresnoy, the National studio of Contemporary Art in France. The most popular works of the artist are Coagualate, Centipede Sun, Iridium and Unlith.
His work deals with issues related to stress, hallucinations, cloning and war. He works mostly on paintings recorded in the open space and in the studio. Philosopher Dorothy Hartwich describes the work of Mihai Grecu: "in his video works, he focuses on the structure and sources of fear; distorted landscape, metamorphosis, neon lights, alchemy, they build a heterogeneous world of video images and 3D animation." asked what he would like to say to the audience before showing one of his films at the Rott International Film Festival
