Willem Thijssen
Willem Thijssen (born 1947) is a Dutch film producer and director. He made his debut as a producer in 1973 for the Dutch-Belgian feature film Camera sutra (of de bleekgezichten). His first films by his production company CinéTé Filmproducties appeared in the early 1980s. In addition to feature films, CinéTé also produces documentaries and short animated films. Thijssen and Van Tulden were awarded an Oscar in 1987 for the short animated film Een Griekse tragedie, which Thijssen produced together with Linda Van Tulden and directed by Nicole Van Goethem. Thijssen is also active as a film director and has made various documentaries and television films since his directorial debut The Future of '36 (1983).
