Thierry Zamparutti

Nothing predisposed Thierry Zamparutti to stick to the film of the Belgian short film. After scientific studies, rock fan, he follows a group as a roadie. In the process, he organizes an alternative music festival in Athus, in southern Luxembourg. During his marketing studies in Namur, he voluntarily helped Jean-Marie Antoine at the Forum cinema. Alternately cashier and event organizer, he was enthusiastic about The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Cinema Paradisio and contracted the cinema bug. After doing his civil service at Grand-Angle, Jacques Noël's film magazine, he became interested in the itinerant tours of Cinéma Brévis and discovered the quality and diversity of Belgian short films. He discovers a genre as marginal as alternative music, meets Patrice Bauduinet who will be the catalyst for a common project: to distribute short films using printed (a magazine) and visual (video) medium. Always runs, you interest me was born. The project seems crazy but the number zero, published in November 1997 on the occasion of the Media Festival 10/10, shows that a demand exists. We reported on it (see archives). The concept is launched: a thematic quarterly (fantasy, detective, underground cinema, etc.). A hundred subscribers follow the adventure (how difficult it is to find copies that some directors no longer have or some producers who have gone bankrupt, etc.). Patrice Bauduinet created the Bunker Ciné Théâtre to be a place for showing and documenting films. As for Thierry Zamparutti, gourmet, he prepares, through his a.s.b.l. Ambiance, a Festival of gourmet films and the art of living, while waiting to start producing short films.
