Abdollah Alimorad

Abdollah Alimorad was born in Tehran on the 22nd November 1947 and has always been attracted to painting and manual work. After obtaining his high school diploma, he enrolled at the Brussels Academy of Fine Arts, but reluctantly had to leave through lack of funds.Back in Tehran he enrolled at the Kanoon School of Animation (founded by Noureddin Zarrinkelk).Once qualified, he began work at Kanoon itself, holding various responsibilities on numerous projects, and producing his main body of work.
Appreciated both at home and internationally, among his many prizes special mention must go to the ‘Grand Prix’ for best short film, awarded to ‘Bahador’ at the Cannes Junior section of the 2001 Cannes Film Festival.
