Dimiter Ovtcharov

Dimiter Ovtcharov, a visual artist, was born in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1989 and is currently living and working in Vienna, Austria. Graduating from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, majoring in Sculpture and Multimedia, guidance was provided by Prof. Erwin Wurm. Specialisation was in the fields of animation and sculpture, with contributions to various documentary films such as Liberation and Occupation (2021) and The Famous Stranger (2015). As an active member of the organisation KOPFKINO - Verein für alte und neue Medien, animation films, sculptures, and interactive installations are created. The third animation film, Cornucopia, received the Jurys Stellar Award for animation at the Thomas Edison Film Festival 2023.
