John Murphy

John Murphy (born 4 March 1965, Liverpool, UK) is a British composer and musician. He gained fame as a composer of music for feature films.
The self-taught musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist began his career in the 1980s and has worked with artists such as The Lotus Eaters, Thomas Lang and Claudia Brücken.
In the early 90s he began writing music for films. His first film was “Leon the Pig Farmer.” David Hughes, a former member of Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark, was also involved in the soundtrack of this film. Murphy subsequently continued to collaborate with Hughes, who wrote music for British films, including Guy Ritchie's Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
