Mostafa El Kashef
Mostafa El Kashef is a Visual Artist and an award winning cinematographer based in Cairo, Egypt and was born in larnaca , Cyprus on the 30th of January 1995. Mostafa studied Cinematography in E.I.C.A.R film School of Paris before he went back to Egypt and got his Bachelor degree in Cinematography from The High Cinema Institute in Cairo. Kashef's career started way before he became one of the youngest cinematographers in Egypt. Being the son of Radwan Elkashef - Egypt's greatest film directors gave him the chance to explore the art of cinema from a very young age, he started working in Filmmaking since he was a student. Throughout his career, Kashef won several cinematography awards; his latest award was the Henry barakat award for Best artistic contribution at the prestigious Cairo international film festival for the cinematography of his first feature film 19b with the director Ahmed Abdalla. Mostafa's work was also recognized internationally for the past few years, in 2018, Kashef's short film "Jebel Banat" directed by sharine atef. Was officially selected at the prestigious Tribeca film festival and winner of the student visionary award, it was also selected for Cannes Short Film corner. Mostafa also won the best cinematography award for "what you don't know about mariam"- in Galichnik film festival as well as Best cinematography award for the short film "This is my night" from Cinemaz Brazil. Aslo, "Khadija" which Mostafa filmed in the year 2021 had its world premiere at the prestigious "Clermont-Ferrand International Film Festival" in France, which is the most important and largest festival in the world specializing in the short films. "Cairo Berlin" in which Kashef filmed with the director Ahmed Abdelsalam was the winner of Gouna Star for Best Arab Short Film and best student film in Still Voices International Film Festival Ireland.
