Brian Yulo Ng
Brian Yulo Ng is a Filipino/Singaporean Filmmaker, Artist and Film Curator. Having a varied interest between multiple different mediums, his works balance different aspects of nature, fantasy and humanity. His Animated Documentary "24" (2019) won the Jury Award for Animated Documentary at the Palm Springs International Animation Festival 2019, Best Film at the Toronto Documentary Short Film Festival and the Bronze Award for Experimental Short at the Los Angeles Animation Festival as well as Official Selections at the Academy Award Qualifying Slamdance Film Festival 2020, Athens International Film & Video Festival 2020, St Louis International Film Festival 2020, DOC NYC 2020 and Cinequest 2021.
His Stop-motion Animated Film "Ryori" (2020) won the Creative Inspiration Award at the Faces of Hunger Short Film Festival 2020 in New York, The Award for Outstanding Animation in Storytelling at the Taste Awards 2021 and Official Selections in the Leuven International Short Film Festival 2020, Nashville Film Festival 2021 and St Louis International Film Festival 2021.
His newest animated documentary "The Absence of Memory" (2022) is set to premiere at the Athens International Film Video Festival 2022 and the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival 2022.
He has worked with different studios in Italy, Japan and the United States. His animated films have screened in film festivals, museums and galleries around the world. Through an exploration of different techniques he works between mediums of performance, cooking, film, drawing and animation.
