Rylee Jean Ebsen

Rylee is a Forbes 30 Under 30, Telly Award winning, comedy director and writer. Her festival darling and JUST FOR LAUGHS winning short film Boomerang premiered online with SHORT OF THE WEEK starring SAG award winner and Emmy nominee Marin Hinkle AKA beloved 'Rose Weissman' of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. She graduated from the Directors Guild of America's Television Director Development Initiative, an exclusive program which pairs TV directing protégés with seasoned directors in order to land their first episode. She’ll be directing her first feature film called Almost Normal in 2024, produced by the legendary Mike Medavoy.
She’s directed commercials and branded content for some of the world’s largest brands, including Kellogg's, Disney, Facebook, State Farm, Dr Pepper, Deloitte, ESPN, Zillow, and Google. She’s worked with numerous high-profile talent and comedians including Seth McFarland, Ben Schwartz, Tom Felton, Nicholas Braun, Brittany Snow, Alfonso Ribeiro, James Marsden, Sky Katz, Sherry Cola, Zuri Adele, Jay Williams, Doris Burke and Iliza Shlesinger.
A ‘Jane of all trades’, Rylee is also a startup advisor & creative director. Previously, Rylee was an executive at Snapchat for several years (starting when the company was less than a dozen people), directing content and guiding the creative evolution of Snap from a startup to multibillion-dollar public company. With her experience across communications, creative strategy & production - she's passionate about helping brands develop their identity through marketing.
Storytelling is in her DNA, she's the granddaughter of Hollywood actor, Buddy Ebsen and comedian/advertising creative director, Stan Freberg. Rylee went to NYU Tisch for directing and studied improv, character, and sketch at The Groundlings.
