Joseph Barbera

American animator, animation artist, director, producer and co-founder of Hanna-Barbera. He was born in the Little Italy area (New York). He started his career as a newspaper artist. He is known for cartoons with Tom and Jerry, which brought him and William Hannah 7 Academy Awards. In 1957, Barbera and Hanna organized their own cartoon studio "Hanna-Barbera", which produced a huge number of animated series for television.
