Aidan Gillen

He began his acting career at the age of 16, while still in Dublin (Dublin Youth Theatre) the role of weaver Basis in Shakespeare's play “A Midsummer Night's Dream”. Subsequently moved to London.
He is best known for his role as Stuart Jones in the Channel 4 television series “Close Friends” and his role as Baltimore Mayor Tommy Carcetti in the HBO television series “The Wire”. For his role in the sequel “Close Friends 2”, he was nominated for a BAFTA TV Award for Best Actor in 2000.
In 2003, he was also nominated for a Tony Award for his role in Harold Pinter's The Caretaker (English), performed by him in a Broadway theater and the Irish Times Theater Award in 2007 for the role of Titch in David Mamet's play American Buffalo (English) in Dublin's Gate Theater (English).
Gillen also starred alongside professional wrestler John Cena in the 2009 movie 12 Rounds. In July of the same year, he starred in the BBC Two television drama Freefall alongside Dominic Cooper and Sarah Harding.
In July 2010, it was announced that Gillen would play Petyr Baelish, one of the main characters in the HBO television series Game of Thrones. The first season of the series starring Gillen was released in 2011. He also starred in the films “Shanghai Knights” (2003) and “Without Compromise”.
In 2016, gave the appearance and voice to the main antagonist of the game Quantum Break - Paul Cyrene.
