Jeremy Coon
In 2004, native Texan Jeremy Coon produced and edited a film that would win fans of all generations: NAPOLEON DYNAMITE. NAPOLEON premiered in Dramatic Competition at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, where it was acquired by Fox Searchlight Pictures and released the following summer; it became one of the most profitable and culturally impactful indie films in history.
Jeremy has a knack for producing hilarious and crowd-pleasing films. His comedy THE SASQUATCH GANG won the Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature at the 2006 Slamdance Film Festival, while HUMBLE PIE earned Best Film accolades from BendFilm and Audience Award for Best Feature from the Sidewalk Film Festival in 2008. In 2015, THUNDER BROKE THE HEAVENS became his third feature film to take home an Audience Award for Narrative Feature at the Dallas International Film Festival.
After getting his MBA, Jeremy helped launch MovieClips.com (one of Time Magazine's Top 50 Websites of 2010 and rebranded as ZEFR in 2014) and executive produced the animated television series NAPOLEON DYNAMITE for 20th Century Fox Television airing after THE SIMPSONS in primetime.
Jeremy's directorial debut, the feature documentary RAIDERS! THE STORY OF THE GREATEST FAN FILM EVER MADE premiered to wild cheers at the 2015 SXSW Film Festival before being released theatrically by Drafthouse Films to critical acclaim.
Jeremy partnered with award-winning filmmaker Barry Poltermann to co-found September Club, an editorial driven production company specializing in documentary content — from feature films to series. Some of their recent work includes THE LAST MOVIE STARS (HBO Max), THE LAST BLOCKBUSTER (Netflix), BOYS STATE (Apple TV), and THE ROMANITCS (Netflix).
Most recently, Jeremy is taking the helm on another exciting project: directing, producing and editing the feature documentary A DISTURBANCE IN THE FORCE centered around the infamous STAR WARS HOLIDAY SPECIAL that will make its world premiere at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival.
