Ethan Shaftel

I direct film, VR, immersive media, and interactive projects. My recent work includes the VR animated comedies GARGOYLE DOYLE (Venice 2023), AJAX ALL POWERFUL (Annecy 2020), KAIJU CONFIDENTIAL (Sundance 2019) and SPACE BUDDIES (Tribeca 2019). My comedy-satire EXTRAVAGANZA, a mix of live-action and 3D, premiered at Tribeca and is available on leading VR platforms. I designed and directed a full-body VR game for Red Bull, a room-sized 3D video installation for Nike, animated parade floats for Disneyland Tokyo, screen content for artists such as Rihanna, Beyonce and Jay Z, plus dozens of award-winning shorts, music videos, and a sci-fi feature.
