Gates Callanan

Making has always been a compulsory act for Gates, and she is driven to create three dimensional characters and spaces. Movement has been a constant fascination for her as well. These two passions brought her to the medium of stop- motion, where she's able to merge her love of sculpture and fabricate with her love of motion. She employs experimental techniques, puppets, and any other medium she sees fit to explore emotion in the time based medium of film and animation.
