Erik van Lieshout

Erik van Lieshout is a Dutch visual artist, who lives and works in Rotterdam/NL. He studied at Ateliers ’63 (1991-1992) and exhibits internationally. In 2003 he represented the Netherlands at the Venice Biennial with the video installation ‘Respect’ in ‘We are the world’, a group show curated by Rein Wolfs. Solo exhibitions include ‘The show must ego on’ at CAC Wiels (2015), ‘Three Social Works’ at South London Gallery (2016) and ‘Sündenbock’ an Hannover Kunstverein (2016). His works are found in collections such as MoMA New York, Centre Pompidou Paris, Lehnbachhaus Munich, MMK Frankfurt, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and many other public and private collections.
