Otávio Almeida
Otávio is a documentarist and photographer from Piauí,Brazil. He graduated from the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Television(EICTV) in Cuba, specializing in documentary direction. He studied at theParque Lage School of Visual Arts (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). He alsoparticipated in the IDFA Academy in 2019 and the Opening Scenes laboratory atthe Visions du Reél 2020.
His latest films The Crossing (La Travesía) had its worldpremiere at IDFA in 2019 and The Wolf Kids (Los niños lobo) premiered atVisións du Réel in 2020. A retrospective of his work, Descubriendo OtávioAlmeida, was also made at the 20th Doc Buenos Aires this year.
