Michal Struss

MICHAEL STRAUSS is an independent director, live visual artist and event producer from Southern California. He has been crafting audio/visual experiences and multi-dimensional environments for over 15 years. Michael is the true embodiment of a modern-day wizard, using technology and creativity to transform reality. His work is designed to open hearts, lift spirits, and blow minds.
Michael's stunning visuals, projection mapping, and psychedelic animation have enhanced the performances of countless artists and brought life to the stages of nearly every venue on the west coast. His work is often seen on the main stages of music festivals such as Lightning in a Bottle, Sonic Bloom, Symbiosis, Lucidity, Serenity Gathering, The Untz, One Love Fest, EDC, and Nocturnal Wonderland.
His experimental short film "A New Vision" with Darpan and Templestep has been recognized with awards from more than 20 international film festivals. Notable collaborations include custom stage productions with performance acts like Lucent Dossier Experience, Desert Dwellers: Beyond, and Kalya Scintilla's Evokation. Recently Michael was chosen to remix the visionary art of Alex and Allyson Grey as the official VJ for the Bicycle Day 75th Anniversary tour with Shpongle.
Michael is now expanding his vision into virtual reality, augmented art, and 360 dome projections. As a founder of the Visual Reality event production team and the new immersive arts company Alternity, he continues to explore new forms of expression. A long-time resident VJ of Wisdome.LA, Michael has created 360 visual experiences for 100+ unique performances and created several fulldome event series, including "Singularity", "Multiverse", "Visual Soundbath 360", "Equilibrium", "I AM Meditation", "Sun Day Trip", and "New Visions".
