Anton Vladimirovich Smetankin was born on October 22, 1977. In 1999, he graduated from the Mechanics and Mathematics Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University. In 2002, he graduated from the Law Department of the Russian State Social University (RSSU).
For over 10 years, he has been involved in film and television production on TV channels (STS, TNT), in production and manufacturing companies.
He took part in organizing the opening and closing ceremonies of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games as a costume and props director.
In 2014, he founded the Parovoz animation studio together with creative producers Evgeny Golovin and Vadim Volya. The studio's portfolio includes 13 animated series and 1 full-length film. The studio's series have been translated into 13 languages and broadcast on television channels in 55 countries, and are available on online platforms in 191 countries. The studio is also creating VR applications based on its cartoons.
