In a significant milestone, the Whistler Film Festival (WFF) is set to mark the 10th anniversary of its Stars to Watch program by revealing the four exceptional actors to be celebrated during the festival from November 29 to December 3. Supported by UBCP/ACTRA, the program serves as a platform for actors with premiering features and shorts, recognizing their noteworthy contributions to the cinematic landscape.

This year's lineup includes Donna Benedicto, portraying Casey, and Arghavan Jenati, portraying Sandra, in the film "WITH LOVE AND A MAJOR ORGAN" directed by Kim Albright. Additionally, Eden Summer Gilmore features in the short film "YOU ARE THE BLUE" directed by Beatrice King, while Donia Kash stars in "MAGIC TRICK" directed by Chris Lennox-Aasen.

Championing Canadian cinema, WFF's Stars to Watch program spotlights talent from the Western Provinces, particularly British Columbia. A committee of industry professionals meticulously selects the actors, immersing them in a comprehensive professional development program. This includes participation in public events, private industry sessions, and meetings with key industry figures at the Whistler Film Festival + Content Summit.

Angela Heck, WFF’s Executive Director, expressed excitement about honoring these performers and emphasized the program's track record in identifying talent destined for international success. Notably, previous Stars to Watch return with featured projects in this year's festival, showcasing the program's enduring impact.

The Whistler Film Festival, taking place from November 29 to December 3, presents a diverse lineup of 97 films, ranging from Oscar contenders to breakthrough Canadian titles. The festival extends its reach with online screenings from December 4 to 17, connecting audiences across Canada. Industry-focused initiatives, including the Content Summit Presented by Paramount+, and virtual sessions further enrich the festival experience.
