The 2024 Screenwriters Lab, backed by Telefilm Canada, Creative BC, and Netflix, provides an exceptional platform for scriptwriters. Selected participants will engage in intensive sessions with industry advisors and mentors, receiving feedback and training tailored to their specific projects. This will strengthen their position in securing investment and opportunities in the lead-up to the Whistler Film Festival.

Participants will benefit from focused script feedback, development of their pitch packages, and project development insights. The program also includes unparalleled access to key decision-makers in the industry, an Industry Pass to the Whistler Film Festival + Content Summit in December 2024, and a four-day artist residency in Whistler (with accommodation included).

Alumni of the WFF Screenwriters Lab have achieved notable success, including securing work in writers' rooms, gaining representation, and seeing their projects optioned or developed. Noteworthy alumni works include Agam Darshi’s "Donkeyhead" (Netflix), Julia Lederer’s "With Love and A Major Organ" (WFF24 Best BC Director Award winner), and Emily Bridger’s "Little Orphans" (Winner of the WFF 2020 Borsos Competition for Best Canadian Feature).
