Annecy 2024 Festival Unveils New Program Highlights

The Annecy International Animation Film Festival, a cornerstone event in the animation industry, is set to offer a diverse and enriched program for its 2024 edition. Scheduled from June 9th to 15th, the festival aims to celebrate the world of animation with a special focus on Portuguese animation, commemorating its 100th anniversary.

Highlighting the synergy between animation and dance, the festival will explore this artistic intersection through various programs, emphasizing the expressive power of movement in both fields. Additionally, the introduction of ANNECY PRESENTS, a non-competitive section dedicated to feature films suitable for all audiences, especially younger viewers, promises a broader exploration of global cinematic contributions.

In response to the festival's growth, four additional cinema theaters will be utilized, and morning screenings at 8:30 am will be added to accommodate the increasing number of films and attendees. This expansion reflects the festival's commitment to providing an inclusive platform for discovering and celebrating animation from around the world.

The Mifa, Annecy's market component, continues to evolve with the creation of the XR&GAMES Area. This new initiative aims to foster connections between animation, video games, and immersive experiences, offering exclusive content to badgeholders and expanding the market's offerings to meet the diverse needs of its participants.
