Annecy 2024 Unveils Exciting Additions to Its Official Selection

Annecy Festival 2024, France, expands its official selection with two new screening events and two making of programs. Highlights include "Hola Frida" with Olivia Ruiz and a feature film project by Jean-Paul Gaultier. The making of events feature "Common Side Effects" and "WAR IS OVER! Inspired by the Music of John & Yoko." These additions promise exclusive insights and premieres.
Annecy Festival 2024, held in Annecy, France, has announced exciting new additions to its already impressive line-up. During a press conference in April, Marcel Jean, the Festival’s Artistic Director, introduced a wealth of exclusive content. Now, the Festival expands its official selection with two new screening events and two making of programs.
In the Screening Events category, attendees can look forward to:
- Hola Frida, a Musical Encounter in the Presence of Olivia Ruiz and the Film Crew by André Kadi and Karine Vézina. This event is produced by Tobo Média, Du Coup Production, and Haut et Court Distribution. It promises a unique experience with the cast and crew present to share insights into the making of this musical encounter.
- Jean-Paul Gaultier & nWave Studios Present Their Feature Film Project. Legendary couturier Jean-Paul Gaultier is set to reveal secrets about his upcoming animation project in collaboration with nWave Studios and Octopolis. This presentation will include a preview and discussions with the creative and production teams, building anticipation for its 2027 release.
In the Making of category, the additions include:
- Common Side Effects – Making of. Created by Joe Bennett and Steve Hely, and produced by Green Street Pictures and Adult Swim, this session will screen the first episode of the new series "Common Side Effects." Following the screening, co-creators Joe Bennett and Steve Hely, along with Adult Swim executives, will engage in a Q&A session, providing an in-depth look at this eagerly-awaited series.
- WAR IS OVER! Inspired by the Music of John & Yoko – Making of by Dave Mullins, produced by Electroleague v. This event features an anti-war story written by Sean Lennon and Dave Mullins, inspired by John and Yoko's iconic song "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)." Dave Mullins and Brad Booker will discuss the journey of this short film, from its inception to its Oscar® victory for Best Animated Short Film.
