CITIA has officially announced the six pupils selected to serve as the Junior Jury at the 2024 Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France. This group of young critics will have the important task of evaluating and awarding two short films from the Young Audiences' programme.

The chosen students are Binta Bah, Joseph Peytavin, and Clara Pallanchard from Novel primary school, along with Annaëlle Bismuth Houdard, Gabin Lebon, and Romane Pallud Mazza from Evire secondary school. These pupils were not randomly selected; they distinguished themselves through their exceptional performance in film analysis, programming, and debate sessions.

Throughout the year, CITIA has supported Novel’s secondary school as part of the City of Annecy’s cultural and artistic education initiative (EAC). Additionally, the pupils from Evire’s primary school have been following a special cinema curriculum (CHAC) focused on animation film, also supported by CITIA.

As official jurors, these young critics will watch and discuss the films in the Young Audiences' programme. Their mission is to deliberate and reach a consensus on the two short films that will be honored with awards.

Accompanied by Aurélia Bachelet-Caton, a CITIA relay-professor, the Junior Jury members will enjoy VIP access to the festival, ensuring a memorable experience. The excitement will culminate on 14th June at the Special Prizes Ceremony, where the winners selected by the Junior Jury will be announced.

The 2024 Annecy International Animation Film Festival promises to be an extraordinary event, with these young jurors playing a crucial role in celebrating the best in animation for young audiences.
