The 2024 Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France concluded with the announcement of the official prize winners. The festival, which saw a record 17,000 attendees and 430 films showcased, highlighted the best in animation across various categories. Next year's festival will run from June 8-14, 2025, focusing on Hungarian animation. Here is the full list of the 2024 award winners.

The 2024 edition of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, held in Annecy, France, concluded with its highly anticipated official prize ceremony. This year's festival, celebrated from June 10th to June 15th, saw record participation, with over 3,420 films submitted and 430 selected for screening. More than 17,000 accredited attendees contributed to the festival's vibrant atmosphere, making it a landmark event in the animation community.

The Closing Ceremony marked the culmination of a week filled with screenings, discussions, and new discoveries in the world of animation. The 2024 Annecy Festival not only broke attendance records but also showcased an impressive array of films that highlighted the diversity and creativity within the animation industry.

The top honor, the Cristal for a Feature Film, was awarded to "Memoir of a Snail," a film that captivated both the jury and the audience with its compelling narrative and stunning visuals. "Flow" emerged as a significant winner, securing the Jury Award, Gan Foundation Award for Distribution, and the Audience Award, reflecting its broad appeal and artistic excellence.

In the short film category, "Percebes" won the Cristal for a Short Film, while "The Car That Came Back from the Sea" received the Jury Award and the France TV Award for a Short Film. The Alexeïeff – Parker Award went to "Beautiful Men," and the Jean-Luc Xiberras Award for a First Film was given to "[S]."

For TV and commissioned films, "The Drifting Guitar" won both the Cristal for a TV Production and the Audience Award, demonstrating its impact across different viewer demographics. The Jury Award for a TV Series was awarded to "My Life in Versailles 'Versailles Ghost,'" and the Cristal for a Commissioned Film went to "Pictoplasma 'Opener 2023.'"

The Graduation Film category saw "Carrotica" winning the Cristal for a Graduation Film, and "Pubert Jimbob" securing the Jury Award. The Lotte Reiniger Award was awarded to "Maatitel," celebrating the promising talents emerging from animation schools.

In the VR category, "Gargoyle Doyle" was honored with the Cristal for the Best VR Work, highlighting innovation in virtual reality storytelling.

Special prizes included the City of Annecy Award for "The Meatseller," the André Martin Award for a French Short Film for "Butterfly," and the Best Original Music Awards for "Joko" (short film) and "Flow" (feature film). The Young Audience Award went to "Hello Summer," and the CANAL+ Junior Jury Award to "Noodles au Naturel." The Festivals Connexion Award was given to "Beautiful Men," while the Festivals Connexion VR Award was awarded to "Emperor."

As the festival drew to a close, anticipation for next year's event began to build. The 2025 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, scheduled for June 8-14, will spotlight Hungarian animation, promising another exciting and enriching experience for animation enthusiasts around the world.
