Sundance 2025: Festival Details and Ticket Sales Announced
The 2025 Sundance Film Festival, one of the most anticipated events in the film industry, is set to take place from January 23 to February 2 in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah. This annual gathering will showcase over 90 feature films and more than 50 shorts across various program sections.
Festival Director Eugene Hernandez announced that a limited number of public ticket packages and passes will be available for purchase starting July 23 for one week only. These packages include options like the Festival Package, Salt Lake City Pass, and Utah Locals Ticket Package, offering early access to ticket selection for multiple screenings.
In-person screenings will begin at noon on Thursday, January 23, in Park City, with additional screenings in Salt Lake City starting Friday, January 24. The festival will continue through February 2, with films playing at prominent venues such as Eccles Theater, Library Center Theatre, and Megaplex Theatres Park City at Redstone in Park City, as well as Broadway Centre Cinemas and Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center in Salt Lake City.
In addition to the in-person events, Sundance 2025 will feature online screenings during the festival's second half. Films in the competition sections, including NEXT, will be available online from January 30 to February 2. Other sections may also opt for limited online participation. Press and industry professionals will have exclusive online access to competition films starting January 29.
The festival will also bring back the Filmmaker Lodge on Main Street in Park City for talks and gatherings, The Box at The Ray for conversations, The Park for events, and Sheraton Park City and DoubleTree by Hilton Park City – The Yarrow as hubs for artists, industry, and press.
The Beyond Film talks program will run in person through January 31, culminating in the festival awards ceremony on the same day. The awards will recognize juried winners and audience favorites.
Eugene Hernandez emphasized the importance of planning ahead, encouraging attendees to book travel and accommodations early. The Sundance Institute offers a lodging site with special offerings and resources, including an interactive map to assist with booking housing.
The Sundance Institute remains dedicated to supporting independent artists and promoting freedom of expression. As part of its long-term mission, the institute is exploring viable locations to host the festival starting in 2027, though this will not affect the festivals in 2025 and 2026 in Utah.
The 2025 Sundance Film Festival promises to be a significant event for filmmakers and audiences alike, continuing the legacy established by founder Robert Redford. Stay tuned for more updates as the festival approaches.
