36th Palm Springs Film Festival Unveils Lineup Featuring Films from 70+ Countries

The 36th Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) in the U.S. will run from January 2–13, 2025, screening 150+ films from over 70 countries, including 68 premieres. This year’s country focus is Spain, featuring a Pedro Almodóvar retrospective. Early tickets are available to members, with Family Day set for January 12.

The Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) is gearing up for its 36th edition, promising a robust lineup of films and events to welcome the new year. Scheduled to take place from January 2 to 13, 2025, in Palm Springs, California, the festival will feature over 150 films representing more than 70 countries. Among these are 68 premieres and a selection of celebrated festival favorites from the past year.

Artistic Director Lili Rodriguez expressed her enthusiasm for this year’s program, stating, “Our lineup this year is truly something special. Over the past year, our Palm Springs International Film Festival team has carefully crafted a program that celebrates the art of storytelling, and promises an array of films– from family-friendly films to thought-provoking and urgent works”.

The 2025 festival introduces Spain as its country focus, with a curated program highlighting contemporary Spanish cinema and a retrospective of four films by acclaimed director Pedro Almodóvar. These selections aim to showcase Spain’s vibrant cinematic legacy alongside its innovative modern storytelling.

For families, the festival brings back the popular Family Day on January 12. The event includes family-friendly screenings and activities designed to engage attendees of all ages.

Early ticket access is now available exclusively for members, along with opportunities to secure festival passes that offer additional privileges. Festivalgoers can pick up the official program at designated distribution points such as SHAG the Store, Riviera Palm Springs, or Los Arboles Hotel.
