Everything Is Fine

Dedicated "to the memory of the Soviet Union", Robert Sahakyants's satirical animated short sets the collapse of the USSR to the 1930s song «Everything Is Fine, Beautiful Marquise». While officials keep reassuring everyone that all is well, the film piles up train crashes, fires, museum-goers gazing at painted food and other absurdities of the late perestroika years, caricaturing the Soviet leaders of the time.
