Shatalo

A black cat named Shatalo lives in the village. He likes to wander near the crane well, and the locals chase him, believing that he brings misfortune - then someone will stumble with full buckets, then he will drop something into the well. Only Nyurka, a first grader, sometimes feeds Shatalo. She looks at the villagers through binoculars given to her for school and discusses whether everyone will cry if she dies. One day, fishermen take Shatalo with them thinking that he will bring them happiness.
