A rich Russian merchant who has long dreamed of a particular piece of forest land decides to immediately acquire it and surpass his competitors when it is suddenly put up for sale. He orders his peasant servant to harness the horse and prepare the sleigh, and despite the threatening storm, they go outside together to make a deal.
