Tarantella

Детский альбом. Фридрих Бургмюллер. Тарантелла
by Yevgeni Nadtochey

“One evening, a very ordinary devil, neither evil nor good - in a word, an ordinary devil, following his own nature of mischief, opens a door that happened to meet him. And finds himself in a strange house, with cardboard furniture and foam chairs. This house differed from ordinary houses not only by strange furniture, but also by the doors drawn on the walls and, accordingly, not leading anywhere. Trying to make sense of such mysterious surroundings our hero discovers a vast brightly lit room. Almost completing his exploration, he suddenly discovers two little girls above his head, curiously examining him. His attempt to leave in English fails - the girls’ tenacious hands prove more nimble. As a result, the devil was dressed according to all the laws of the puppet genre: in a petticoat, pantaloons and heeled shoes painted in silver stars. And if it had only ended with those ridiculous star shoes. Unbeknownst to them, a small orchestra was pulled out of nowhere, made up of completely bizarre musicians playing completely inconceivable instruments. And the performance began, where the main and only hero for some reason absolutely does not want to become neither an opera star, nor a ballet star, nor any other dancing and not only dancing star…”.
